To What May Much Biblical Archaeology Reporting Be Compared?

It’s like an archaeologist finding an ancient knife in a dig and assuring the public that the knife must be a ceremonial dagger used in Jewish Temple sacrifices, proving the existence of the First Temple, the complete accuracy of the biblical account of Temple rites, and the chronology of high priests.

It’s like finding a cigar in Vienna and proclaiming Sigmund Freud must have existed because “sometimes a cigar is just a cigar”.

    However I daren’t try and add to the list. Those two examples are far too close to actual claims circulating around as it is. 🙂
