April 27, 2010: Mississippi Day of Prayer

As declared by Haley Barbour, MS’ governor, Tuesday 4-27-2010 is a state day of prayer for the deaths and devastation visited on the state by last Saturday’s  tornado and last Tuesday’s oil rig destruction.

At least twenty-one people are presumed dead and hundreds of homes and businesses damaged or destroyed as a result of the two incidents.

State flags are also to be flown at half-mast Tuesday through Friday as well.

Those who pray can add the victims and the families of this latest disaster to their prayer list. Those who don’t normally pray might reconsider, or at least pause to remember those affected.
